Delivery Procedure
- A Burst-Enabled Player sends a new multimedia request
to the Conductor.
-
Conductor continuously monitors and tracks available
bandwidth, the number of connected servers, the number of
clients being served, and the status of all requests over
multiple servers to provide centralized management capabilities.
-
Conductor intelligently connects Player to an appropriate
server based on network conditions at the time of request.
-
Server delivers data in Faster-Than-Real-Time bursts,
ensuring uninterrupted, jitter free video and audio.
- Burst-Enabled Players' VCR-like functionality allows
full control over media playback.
Delivery Guarantee
Burstware provides fail-over protection by automatically switching
demand for a Conductor and/or Server to machines that are
available and running. Fail-over is "invisible" to Burst-Enabled
Players. Because new servers top off client buffers in Faster-Than-Real-Time,
there is no interruption in service or change in the viewing
experience even if a failure occurs mid-stream.
