BOSTON, February 15, 2017 -- Burst, the mobile video technology company that enables broadcasters, media companies, rights holders and brands to instantly deliver mobile video to broadcast, OTT and digital, today announced that has completed Avid Platform Certification.

Using the Avid Connectivity Toolkit, Burst and Avid collaborated to build a clean, effective connector between the Burst mobile video platform and Avid Media Central. Now, mutual customers are assured of a simple and painless connection between the platforms and that each will work as designed to streamline the integration of mobile video into an Avid production workflow.

Earlier this year, Burst announced its acceptance into the Avid Alliance Partner program and resulting inclusion in the Avid Connectivity Partner roster. The Avid Connectivity Partner Program offers a full range of resources designed to help developers and their organizations connect their media solutions to the MediaCentral Platform. These include the Avid Connectivity Toolkit, and professional and solution certifications. The Burst mobile video platform enables Avid customers to acquire video content from media teams, fans or followers and seamlessly integrate that video into Avid workflows for play-out to broadcast or post-production editing. The Burst Connector Module will work directly with Media | Director and the MediaCentral | UI Toolkit.

“Partnership with the leading technology providers in the industry is a critical element of our strategy to make Burst a must-have partner for any organization looking to easily add mobile video to production workflows,” said Bryant McBride, Founder and Chief Executive Officer, Burst, Inc. “Certification by Avid, a true industry leader, will allow us to show mutual customers just how easy it is to significantly reduce production time and expense for both curated video and user-generated content by integrating the Burst platform with Avid solutions.”

“Avid sets the bar high for Certified Partners because we are committed to delivering an industry-best experience for our customers,” said Alan Hoff, Vice President, Market Solutions, Avid. “Burst has met that criteria, and we’re confident that, together, we will help our customers incorporate mobile video seamlessly into their workflows giving them access to a new, cost-effective world of video content.”

Burst and World-Class Partners

Technology and application partners like Avid, Adobe, EVS, NewTek, Evertz, Grass Valley and Ross Video, social media partners like Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, OTT application developers, branding agencies and production houses all can easily integrate with the Burst on TV platform in a way that allows them to use mobile video as an integral part of their application seamlessly. The company is aggressively courting new partners across the broadcast, digital, OTT and social spectrum to allow users to add Burst to their arsenal of content tools with ease.

Sinclair Broadcast Group to Deploy Burst On TV Across 50 US TV Markets; Nationwide Delivery of Mobile Video to Broadcast, Digital and OTT Solution Puts SBG in Vanguard of TV Technology

Sinclair Broadcast Group to Deploy Burst On TV Across 50 US TV Markets; Nationwide Delivery of Mobile Video to Broadcast, Digital and OTT Solution Puts SBG in Vanguard of TV Technology,

BOSTON, July 19, 2016 -- Burst, the mobile video technology company that enables broadcasters, media companies, rights holders and brands to instantly deliver mobile video to broadcast, OTT and digital, today announced that Sinclair Broadcast Group, Inc. (Nasdaq: SBGI), the largest and most diversified television broadcasting company in the country, has agreed to deploy the Burst platform for user-generated content and Burst On TVTM (BOTV). Plans call for the deployment of the Burst solution to more than 50 television markets where Sinclair owns or operates television stations and the SBGI-owned Tennis Channel.

Sinclair’s roll out of the Burst platform started in the second quarter of 2016 and will continue for the balance of 2016. Each station will issue calls to action asking viewers to submit video of compelling moments such as sports events, breaking news, political and cultural happenings, or major weather events for curated broadcast on local news programming and for distribution on Sinclair’s digital assets. Thanks to Burst-enabled user-generated content (UGC), these stations will have a new inventory of great video content that is totally rights-controlled by Sinclair.

As the stations become familiar with the basic Burst platform, they will progress to Burst On TV. BOTV is the foundational technology and the only platform that allows customers to get video from any mobile device onto live broadcasts, OTT, digital networks or social media channels instantly without disrupting existing workflows and processes.

BOTV employs an easy to use point-and-click interface that allows journalists, consumers, celebrities – anyone with a smartphone, a point of view and subject to record – to get their video into live media streams seamlessly without requiring the download and use of a mobile app to participate. For media companies, live event venues, brands and marketers, this means fresh and compelling content that is readily monetized, giving broadcasters new sources of sustainable revenue from owned content.

“We are in a market today where consumers have a nearly unlimited number of viewing options,” said Bryant McBride, Founder and Chief Executive Officer, Burst, Inc. “Only Burst gives broadcasters like Sinclair the ability to quickly and cost-effectively build fresh mobile video content streams that engage the new generation of TV viewers, while also enabling a new source of revenue and actionable viewer data.”

“Burst is a unique opportunity for us to build upon viewer engagement in our local communities,” said Scott Livingston, Vice President of News for Sinclair. “The platform has differentiated itself by being incredibly easy to use and early UGC results have been very encouraging.”

Burst and Sinclair Broadcast Group Announce “Join Vote 2016”

Burst and Sinclair Broadcast Group Announce “Join Vote 2016”,

"Elections belong to the people. It’s their decision. If they decide to turn their back on the fire and burn their behinds, then they will just have to sit on their blisters.” -Abraham Lincoln

Abe Lincoln knew a thing or two about contentious elections and his words from across the decades couldn’t ring more true than today. As we approach Election Day 2016, all of America and much of the rest of the world is watching closely to see not only the results of this year’s presidential contest but also to see our country’s behavior at the local polls during Election Day.

Burst and the Sinclair Broadcast Group (Nasdaq: SBGI), the largest television broadcaster and leading local news provider, are teaming up to deliver unvarnished views of American voters across the country at local polling places during Election Day. Both of the major candidates have set new lows in popularity, yet one will emerge victorious, as the country’s next President. Opinions of the candidates and their characters have dominated the political discourse and will reach a peak on Election Day.

Sinclair stations across the Nation will be ingesting viewer-generated video from hundreds of polling places through the Burst platform. These bi-partisan videos will be delivered through Sinclair’s political news coverage and updates throughout Election Day, both on air and over the local stations websites under the moniker “Join Vote 2016.”

“We are offering our mobile video platform for free for a limited time this election season to help keep democracy viable and transparent. Mobile video can provide ‘eyes and ears’ on a massive scale at polling places across the country which serves the integrity of the electoral process while also providing media organizations with authentic and immediate content,” said Bryant McBride, Founder and Chief Executive Officer, Burst.

“Join Vote 2016 is a unique opportunity for us to build upon viewer engagement in our local communities,” said Scott Livingston, Vice President of News for Sinclair. “The Burst platform has differentiated itself by being incredibly easy to use and early user-generated content results have been very encouraging.”

Founded in 2011, Burst is a leading mobile video technology company that is transforming how broadcasters, publishers, rights holders, brands and venues create, manage and monetize user-generated and controlled video content. Burst Launches Burst On TV Platform and Burst Real Time Commercial Solution; New Technology Platform Enables Industry-First Solution for Instant Mobile Video Insertion into Broadcast, OTT and Digital Advertising

Burst Launches Burst On TV Platform and Burst Real Time Commercial Solution; New Technology Platform Enables Industry-First Solution for Instant Mobile Video Insertion into Broadcast, OTT and Digital Advertising,

BOSTON, June 27, 2016 -- Burst, the mobile video technology company that enables broadcasters, media companies, rights holders and brands to instantly deliver mobile video to broadcast, OTT and digital, today announced Burst On TVTM (BOTV) and Burst Real Time CommercialTM (BRTC).

Burst On TV is the company’s foundational technology and the only platform that allows customers to get video from any mobile device onto live broadcasts, OTT, digital networks or social media channels instantly without disrupting existing workflows and processes. Burst Real Time Commercial is the first business application for Burst On TV and a must-have for media companies looking to create more lucrative native advertising inventory for their broadcasts and for sponsors looking for new ways to differentiate and connect directly with consumers. Burst Real Time Commercial is built on the BOTV platform and bundled with production services, support and a rigorous customer success program. This packaged solution allows advertisers to easily create authentic and engaging advertising infused with real-time, curated user-generated content seamlessly delivered via broadcast, OTT or digital applications within minutes. The BRTC solution is the first of several upcoming Burst solutions based on BOTV that will allow customers to create, control and monetize video content more profitably than ever before.

BOTV employs an easy to use point-and-click interface that allows journalists, consumers, celebrities – anyone with a smartphone, a point of view and a subject to record – to get their video into live media streams seamlessly without requiring the download and use of a mobile app to participate. For media companies, live event venues, brands and marketers, this means fresh and compelling content that is rights-controlled and readily monetized with no workflow disruption. Burst is the only solution that gives companies complete control of their content and a weapon against social media cannibalization that also allows them to drive new sources of revenue from owned content. No longer will companies be forced to “rent” their content to social media networks and be subject to fickle partnership and
advertising arrangements that are not profitable and whose parameters historically have been subject to change.

“The communications universe is continually expanding and the number of video consumption options is unending. Today, the world seems fixated on live broadcast delivered via social media which engenders a poor viewing experience that can be akin to ‘watching water boil.’ Burst’s customers are clamoring for the speed of broadcast combined with the curated precision that ensures compelling content. How BRTC Works
Burst Real Time Commercial is a packaged solution that incorporates BOTV with world-class production support and deep customer service from Burst’s in-house team of video professionals who are solely dedicated to ensuring customer success. For the first time, producers, editors and marketers can collect video from any mobile device and easily integrate that content into fresh and relevant ads that are keyed to a live broadcast for TV, OTT and digital applications. The combination of Burst technology and hands-on support provided by the company’s team of video production professionals means that brands now have a tool of unprecedented power and creativity that allows them to speak to potential consumers when viewer engagement is at its peak, build new and compelling video inventory, and monetize that video inventory more efficiently.

As an example, if an advertiser buys time during a broadcast of any kind, Burst will use its proprietary video algorithms to search Burst “bubbles” – containers of video content uploaded to the Burst cloud –for video clips relevant to the event and appropriate to the advertiser’s needs. Those clips are reviewed and selected by a team of Burst video pros and broadcast production staff and quickly incorporated into an upcoming Real Time Commercial for broadcast, digital or OTT delivery. Alternately, advertisers and broadcasters can solicit viewers to upload user-generated video to Burst directly during a broadcast. Burst staff and broadcast producers then follow the same review and selection routine to seamlessly merge the user-generated content into a Real Time Commercial.

Burst Launches Burst for OTT and Burst User-Generated TV; Industry-First Solutions Return Mobile Video Control and Revenue to Customers, Blunts Social Media Leakage,

BOSTON, July 12, 2016 -- Burst, the mobile video technology company that enables broadcasters, media companies, rights holders and brands to instantly deliver mobile video to broadcast, OTT and digital, today announced Burst for OTT (BOTT) and Burst User-Generated TV (BUGTV).

BOTT and BUGTV represent a completely new approach for companies struggling to create low-cost, compelling content that can generate sustainable revenue sources in the rapidly changing TV and video environment. Burst for OTT is comprised of a set of APIs that broadcasters and publishers of any size can use to integrate mobile video into OTT applications making them more engaging and participatory. Burst User-Generated TV builds on the Burst technology platform and proprietary video search algorithms to find compelling content and stage it for insertion into new “TV” shows for broadcast or OTT applications.

Burst on TV unlocks the promise of OTT. Now, with the BOTT solution, broadcasters and publishers can maximize the engagement value of OTT by allowing viewers the ability to contribute to -- not just consume – video content. OTT apps with a higher level of engagement create a far better viewing experience which drives downloads and helps build an inventory of fresh, compelling content for broadcasters and publishers. Burst’s API set makes for simplified workflows so that all of the benefits of BOTT are available with minimal ramp-up or disruption to existing production processes.

Burst User-Generated TV allows broadcasters of all sizes to effectively compete in the new TV universe. With BUGTV, for the first time broadcasters can create entire shows from user-generated video and integrate it with linear content at a fraction of the cost and time required for traditional productions. BUGTV is a fully packaged solution that combines the foundational technology of Burst on TV and the API set from Burst for OTT with Burst’s professional production, curation and branding services to deliver programming that is fully rights controlled and readily monetized. As a result, Burst for OTTprovides a new solution for building strong, sustainable revenue streams from fresh content that engages more deeply than traditional video.

“Burst is the only company that gives customers the ability to generate compelling video content at minimal production costs and make that content more appealing to viewers and sponsors. As a result, Burst delivers a TV experience unlike any that has come before,” said Bryant McBride, Founder and Chief Executive Officer, Burst, Inc. “By dramatically lowering production costs and reducing production time while enhancing viewer engagement, Burst is creating mobile video solutions that help content-creating organizations navigate the new TV universe in which there are unlimited viewing options but few opportunities to drive maximum monetization of their own content.”

Burst Announces New Investment Round; Sinclair Digital Ventures, Horizon Media Lead Investment in Mobile Video Innovator,

BOSTON, March 7, 2016 — Burst, the mobile video technology platform that enables broadcasters, media companies, rights holders and brands to leverage the power of user-generated content (UGC), today announced that it has received equity investments from two strategic partners: Sinclair Digital Ventures, a wholly owned subsidiary of Sinclair Broadcast Group, Inc. (Nasdaq: SBGI), one of the largest and most diversified television broadcasting companies in the country, and Horizon Media, the largest and fastest growing privately held media services agency in the world. Burst will use the investment to extend its lead in helping customers navigate the dynamic mobile-to-television technology landscape. Terms of the investment round were not disclosed.

Leading media companies, such as Sinclair, use Burst to quickly capture, curate, broadcast and monetize the kind of UGC and controlled video content that consumers want. Whether content is sourced from reporters, stringers or social teams, the Burst platform is unique in that it facilitates the seamless acquisition of behind the scenes, authentic, raw mobile video of sports, breaking news, weather, concerts, social media and other events without disrupting existing workflows. With enhanced traditional linear feeds, live broadcasts, studio content and on-demand digital shows, Burst customers have increased their audience, content engagement and monetization of both broadcast and digital video delivery.

The Burst platform enables customers to upload mobile videos without an app download. Video is then quickly curated and published to linear television, social streams and digital platforms with just a few clicks. This speed and simplicity helps create a compelling new video engagement experience that builds brands through deeper fan engagement and differentiates companies as first-to-market video leaders. Additionally, Burst helps media companies and broadcasters build 100% new linear and digital video inventory quickly, easily and cost-effectively.

“Burst’s technology platform is the ideal catalyst for any video-driven organization that understands the massive change taking place in the broadcast and video media world today,” said Bryant McBride, Chief Executive Officer and Co-Founder of Burst Inc. “Sinclair and Horizon, visionary companies in their own right, understand the radical transition from a limited number of channels and traditional content creation to a world with millions of online, broadcast and mobile options and quality content that can be produced quickly and at scale. Burst is leading the way in helping media innovators take advantage of this market transformation.”

“Sinclair is deeply committed to delivering our content to our viewers via whatever means they choose to consume it – broadcast, online or mobile,” said Rob Weisbord, Chief Operating Officer of Sinclair Digital Group. “Burst is a must-have platform that will allow us to deliver incremental, relevant content quickly and efficiently, without disrupting our existing production workflows. It enables Sinclair to further tap the market emergence of millennials who are at the epicenter of mobile video consumption.”

“We are always looking to help brands to engage with consumers in a more authentic way,” said John Finger, Director of Business Strategy, charged with venture investments at Horizon Media. “User generated content that can be easily created, sourced, curated and deployed, is a huge opportunity for brands, and Burst has technology and skill to make it happen.”
